IT'S A BOY!! (Part 2)

Friday May 19th, 2006 was one of the greatest days of my life. We found out that we were having a boy, and we found out that our bid on the house was accepted. Its kind of weird how it all worked out to fall on one day.

The ultrasound was really cool, she measured the size of his head, the length of his forearm, torso, and legs. She showed us the four chambers in the heart, his two kidneys, the curve of the spine, and the three vessels of the umbilical cord. She said everything looked good and healthy. After that, she asked us if we wanted to know the gender of the baby, we said yes, and she showed his genitalia. After she showed us, I got a big grin on my face.

Like most guys, I really wanted a boy and I am extremely happy that we are having one. I'm glad I am passing on the Carroll name to anther generation. I would have been happy if we were having a girl, I just wanted to have a boy first. I can't wait to teach him how to play baseball, spend Sundays watching the Eagles, and share the agony of being a Philadelphia sports fan. I know we have a lot of hard times and sleepless nights before we really get to enjoy the joy of being parents, but just the thought of having a son makes mehappy.

Now we have a lot of work ahead of us to get ready for the birth. I'm glad that we found a nice house to raise our son in. We just have to deal with all the stuff before settlement, move our stuff in, and get the nursery ready. Should be an eventful summer.

P.S. - The scans from Friday are below this post and Lauren's post, you can't really see too much other then he looks like an alien right now.

Joe and I are so excited. Scott I knew you wanted to have a boy, but you would have been excited either way. You two have such an exciting summer coming. It will be so much fun for you to get your house in order and get ready for this new little one. A whole new life is blooming as we speak. It will be the summer of 2006 a memory to last a life time. And Lauren I think you look great, I guess my guess was really off I thought for sure it was a girl. How lucky are Joe and I, 2 girls and 2 boys. This is going to be so much fun. Watching Erin with the baby should be fun too. Love you both and can't wait.

So exciting!!!! It seems to be going by so fast.
Scott--I'm glad you are going to have a son to carry on the Carroll name. You will be a great dad just like you are a great uncle. I can't wait to have a nephew to babysit(because I do owe you some). I never thought the day would come that you would be having a child! Boy, have you done alot of growing up.
Lauren--You look great for as far along as you are. You will be a great mother. Erin is always talking about her "soon to be Aunt Lauren". If there is anything I can do to help you, especially with the new house, let me know...but I don't do bathrooms!!! Ha Ha. Just ask my mom, I was "Cinderella" as a kid and it has wounded me for life.

Can we start the name game now???
